Dear Parishioners,

When Karin Kennedy emailed me with the results of the second collection for our Holy Cross Mission in Mexico--- $ 13,213.00-- I immediately said a prayer of thanksgiving to Our Lord. Your generosity is overwhelming. And our people here at La Luz Parish are so grateful, especially the children and the families whom you are helping so much. I asked you for help with our 'Caritas Program' and you all really came through. Now we can help so many families who are in crisis as well as continue to help with the 'School Supplies Program' and our 'Program for Children with Special Needs'. 

I am so grateful to Father Jim for inviting me to come to Holy Family again this year for our Mission Appeal. May the Lord continue to bless your wonderful parish of Holy Family up there in 'The Cove'.

                     MARRIAGE PREPARATION (Required by the Diocese )
The July “Together in God’s Image” marriage preparation classes offered by the diocesan office of Family Counseling and Family Life are full. The remaining classes with openings are at Cedarbrake Retreat Center on Aug. 1-3 and Sept. 5-7. If you are planning a wedding at Holy Family in the next 12 months please register to attend one of the classes.

Today our parish participates in the Peter's Pence Collection for the Works of the Holy Father. He is asking us to help him provide for our neediest brothers and sisters throughout the world. Join the Holy Father in this act of justice and kindness. Please pray for the Holy Father and give generously to this special appeal.
